1. Thorne Island Battery Fort was built in 1854 as part of the defence system at Milford Haven; single storey, constucted of local stone with a flat asphalt roof around a large courtyard. Now coverted to a hotel.

2. The Thorn Island battery was built during 1852-4 to provide the first forward defence for the Haven waterway, coupled with West Blockhouse, Dale and Stack Rock forts. It was converted into a hotel in 1932.
