Dated 1719. These are a magnificent example of wrought iron gates:
Cast and wrought ironwork, painted black with gold highlights. Piers with Corinthian capitals; vine tendrils and coronets to central openwork shaft; lead wolf finials. Twin carriage gates with scrolled foliage; heraldic overthrow containing the Myddleton arms. Spear finials and scrollwork cresting to side gates and railings. Square stone piers, with pineapple finials.

Relocated to New Hall park entrance in 1770. The gates were re-sited between two lodges/pavilions (Nprn 26988 and 27570) with screen additions at the main Llwyn-y-Cil entrance to Chirk Castle Park in 1888.
