Pant-y-Celyn, shown on the 1839 Tithe Map, is one of the earliest dwellings in Cwm-y-glo, the majority of which was laid out later in the 19th century; the cottage is likely to have been occupied by a quarryman and his family. It is a single-storey 2-room plan, built of painted roughly coursed rubblestone with a graded slate roof. The 20th century windows are in original 19th century openings with slate cills to either side of a slightly offset boarded door with a glazed panel under an open shallow-gabled porch, which has fixed windows to the sides and integral end stacks with slate drips. There is a lean-to addition to the rear.
