The disused lead mine shafts are situated on the eastern edge of Bryn Digirf farm, which is approximately four miles south east of Prestatyn. On the first edition of the 25inch OS maps, published in 1872,five lead mine shafts are recorded within an area measuring roughly 500 metres by 200 metres. However, on the second edition of the 25inch OS maps, published in 1899, the shafts are labelled as 'old shafts (lead)'.
