Penmaen Methodist Chapel was first built in 1834, rebuilt in 1870 and again in 1885. In 1897 a porch was added and other improvemnts made. By 1978 Penmaen Chapel had fallen into disuse and by the 1990's stood in ruins, although the graveyard was still in use in 1998.
