Description
St Winifred's School, Llanfairfechan, was founded in 1887 by Eleanor Douglas Pennant (d. 1919), a daughter of the then Lord Penrhyn of Penrhyn Castle. This public school for girls began at buildings at Garth and High Street, Bangor, moving to a site near the centre of the town of Llanfairfechan in September 1922. The school was closed c.1968, its former location is now occupied by housing known as St. Winifred's Close.
