Built ca. 1868-70 (private docs.). Nos 81-82 formerly the Royal Arms PH.. Lease premium of 1870 between Catherine James? and John Burgoyne refers to structures built there by said John Burgoyne of Blaenavon, builder, one of which used as Inn called Royal Arms, in occupancy of John Griffiths, and the other three used as private dwellings. Lease on Royal Arms passed to Westlake Brewery ca. 1891?; later converted to domestic use (see NPRN:304576).
