Description
A war memorial in polished grey granite located on the east side of the A494 (Y Stryd Fawr) through Bala. A small Celtic cross supported by a tapered pedestal with moulded top. Mounted on a tiered plinth of three chamfered steps. It is set on a low square base surrounded by four corner posts with iron chains between.
All four faces of the pedestal are inscribed with the names of the fallen of the First World War (1914-19), the list sometimes extending to the faces of the plinth. On the front (north-west) side the upper two tiers of the plinth have inscribed upon them the names of the fallen of the Second World War (1939-45).
