Disgrifiad
The mound of slate which was the most notable feature of this site has been heavily salvaged. A great deal of smashed slate formerly extended 10m around the wreck. Other features noted as being present at one time were an anchor and pieces of iron.

Event and Historical Information:
The LEWIS was a 61gt wooden schooner built in 1858. At time of loss, it was owned by R Owen of Moelfre and registered at Beaumaris. The schooner was carrying a cargo of roofing slate from Porthmadog to Folkestone under the command of W Owen when it foundered in squally conditions off Ramsey Island on 23 March 1894. The wreck was relocated by sports divers in 1983.
