Earthworks thought to cover the remains of a later prehistoric type roundhouse, set on broken ground falling to the east.
This is a 0.4-0.9m high penannular bank, 16m overall diameter and 6.0m internally, with a 4.0m wide gap on the east. It is likely that the bank represents a collapsed drystone revetted wall in the region of 2.0m wide.
Roundhouses such as this purports to be are characteristic of later Prehistoric settlement and often produce Roman material when excavated. This would have been an impressive building capped by a conical thatched roof up to 8.0m high.
