DisgrifiadFron Lift Bridge is one of only two `drawbridges? on the Ellesmere Canal in Wales. It was designed to allow a crossing at bank level. The bridge was originally timber, but it was renewed in steel to the same pattern in about 1990. The span is 3 metres between the abutments. The tall frame supports a counterbalance beam to lift the deck, which is hinged on one side.
