DisgrifiadThe first reference to the brickworks dates to 1874, and a clay pit and quarry are shown on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey Map. Between 1900 and c.1928 the brickworks were supplied with silica by aerial ropeway from Garth mountain. The brickworks specialised in fireclay products such as refractory linings etc. It operated under the name 'Romag' in 1970.
