Disgrifiad1. A mid C19 balance pond approximately 40m E-W by 30m, partly water-filled and part overgrown with reeds. The SW side is an embankment for a tramroad (nprn 260327), beyond which is the former Hill Pits. An earthen bank is also on the E side. It is fed by leats on the W and NW sides. Site visited, 2000.03.17/H&H/RH.
