Waun Twmpath motte is a well-preserved castle mound some 40 metres in diameter at the base and 15 metres diameter at the top. It has a maximum height of about 7 metres above the base of a well-defined ditch which is up to 2.5 metres deep in places.
It is located on the northern edge of a protruding spur of high ground, but it is overlooked from the south.
