An erect monolith of indeterminate age and purpose, standing in the churchyard at Maentwrog.
Maen Twrog is a plain oval section pillar stone with a rounded top. It is 1.1m high and 0.4-0.6m thick.
Various legends are associated with the stone. In the fourth branch of the Mabinogion it is alledged to mark the burial place of Pryderi. In another story it was hurled by a giant named Twrog.
