Bethesda (1) Independent Chapel was built in 1888 and in 1905, converted to use as a schoolroom. Rebuilding work took place in 1961 with the construction of a large hall to the rear. The 1905 chapel Sunday School is built in the Simple Round-Headed style with a gable entry plan.
