DescriptionA medieval parish church, closed due to mining subsidence in the 1930s and again in the 1950s. It is now a secular council property.
In its present form the building dates to around 1500 althought the original church is thought to be twelfth century and it may be mentioned in a ninth-tenth century poem.
The church consists of a nave, a lower chancel and a saddleback west tower. The nave and chancel have barrel roofs. he church was restored in 1888-91.
