Description
A late sixteenth century house, much modified and extended, said to have been built within the curtilage of a medieval castle (NPRN 305741).
The present house is an L-plan of two ranges. It has three storeys under a slate hipped roof and shows an early and late nineteenth century exterior. The principal facade of eight bays faces south-east along the line of the main carriage drive. The similar, five bay, western facade faces towards the public road. The house is entered by a two storey porch at the end of the eastern range. Service ranges occupy the area between the two ranges.
