Hafod y Llan is a two-storey farmhouse with integral storeyed stable bay, presumably representing a stable with labourer's accommodation above.

The 1st, 2nd and 3rd editions of the historic 25-inch O. S. maps, published in 1889, 1900 and 1914 respectively, depict a short aqueduct immediately behind the house. This would have been part of a leat from the Afon Cwm-Llan, and probably drove a small wheel to power a butter churn.
