Site Record

Area of quarrying on both sides of the upper reaches of the Afon Derfyn. Individual scoops are up to 30m across and 3m deep and seem to be exploiting slaty shale, perhaps for roofing material. There is a processing area at approximately SH 85736020, denoted by a square building foundation next to the stream. A second structure, measuring 3m by 3m, is visible near the northernmost quarry scoop. Overall area 180m N/S by 60m.
