Description
In an area centred SH74507000 there are the remains of early cultivation terraces and boundary banks, with associated habitation sites of rectangular buildings and earlier round huts. They cover an area 1370m (NE-SW) by 640m wide, on ground sloping gently to the NE. The terraces are up to 1.2m high but are mostly destroyed by modern cultivation and walling. They are best developed about the centre of the area. The fields are irregular in shape and where the outline can be traced they preserve something of the medieval layout, the prehistoric fields having been largely destroyed.
