Roath Basin was opened in 874 enclosing 12 acres, with a couple of graving docks off. Part of Cardiff Docks (nprn 91412) and although publicly accessible, the basin is not used commercially. It is home to a former Helwick lightship, LV14 (nprn 400889). The basin gave access to Roath Dock (nprn 34279) after its opening in 1887.
