Site Description Gaer Fawr is a hilltop enclosure, approximately 128m by 150m, on a locally prominent hill that mainly uses the natural fall of the ground for defence. Its earthworks are concentrated around the northern end where two ramparts, 1.5m and 2m high, with quarry ditches have been constructed, focussed on an entry work at the north-east angle. Within, the ground is craggy and uneven and no evidence of occuptaion was noted.
