Description
1. Cropmarks show one well-marked, and two or three faint, small square enclosures in the vicinity of the large defended enclosure at Ffynnon (NPRN 308906), which appear to be early Medieval square barrows. They are: At SN2444 4775, rectangular, 13m across; At SN 2465 4778, 10m square, with central grave pit; At SN2466 4772, 17m square, with another partial ditch to east. The first has been known since recorded on APs in 1989, but the latter two were only photographed as cropmarks on 14th and 18th July 2003.
T Driver, RCAHMW, 19th Sept 2003.

2. A further, similar feature is apparent at SN24494772.

Can be compared with excavated funerary structures at Gogerddan (Nprn310262), the lack of a common orientation occurring also with a group of similar features at Croes Faen (Nprn310263).
