DescriptionBuilt in 1824-5. Extensions and alterations made 1912 to the former stables and offices, located in castle courtyard, which now houses the school. Basically rectangular in shape. Of coursed bull-nosed facings with ashlar dressings. Crenellated parapets with false machicolation to towers. Comprises cross windows, and sash windows with glazing-bars. Interior retains main suite of state rooms including entrance hall, library, drawing room, and dining room (now used as museum and art gallery). Baronial Entrance hall with ribbed ceiling and panelling to doorcases; castellated chimney-piece in library; remaining public rooms in neo-classical style.
