Description
1. Bivallate causewayed enclosure, discovered by Chris Musson during aerial reconnaissance on 12th July 2006 following original unrecorded photography by Cambridge University in 1970. The Enclosure is oval, measuring 180m x 130m, enclosing 1.2 hectares. There is a possible entrance on the southern side. Close to 'stone piece' place name (CPAT HER 2209), with many flints also found during previous field walking episodes. Excavated during 2008 by Nigel Jones of the Clwyd Powys Archaeological Trust, revealing pot sherds and datable carbon deposits.
