Description
A C17th vernacular stone-built farmhouse of regional plan-type. The house belongs to a group of north Denbighshire houses which are outliers of the 'Snowdonian' housetype with end chimney and offset central entrance. Surviving interior detail includes a post-and-panel partition, fireplace beam with ogee stop, C19th fireplace stair replacing an earlier stair in the same position. The floor of large flags is a good example of the C19th flagging. The associated farmbuildings have been altered but include a C19th cowhouse with slate partitions. A well, possibly that commemorated in the name Bryn-ffynnon, has been discovered in the sloping group behind the house. R F Suggett/RCAHMW/Jan. 2008.
