Eroded scatter of burnt stone and charcoal-rich soil on steep western bank of deep, minor stream valley or ravine. Identified by Simon Timberlake during fieldwork on Darren Camp hillfort to the west. Appears to mark the site of a prehistoric burnt mound or cooking mound alongside a good source of water. Visited February 2012.
