Capel Mihangel is mentioned in documents of 1505. Its remains are thought to have been visible in 1836, and the chapel is thought to have been situated in a field known as 'Y Maenllwyd Fawr'. Its location is given in the field adjacent to Mudlescwm farm, some 500m to the south-east of Ffynnon Mihangel (NPRN 32247) (although sources differ, see NPRN 417598). The site was visited by RCAHMW staff in 1912. A dressed stone used as a step at Mudlescwm farm was noted to have been a window sill from the chapel. Measurements of the stone are given as 54in x 15in. A further fragment of dressed stonework may also have been prerserved at Mudlescwm farm.
