Morriston Cemetery opened for burials in 1915, and first appears on OS 25-inch Third Edition (1911-39). The cemetery covers approximately 38 acres in the north of the city, and a Mortuary Chapel appears on the OS 25-inch Fourth Edition (1928-43). Later extended to the south, the cemetery now centres around the post-war crematorium and chapel, built in 1956 in the Arts and Crafts style, with a porch added in 1990 (see NPRN 13486). The earlier Mortuary Chapel has since been demolished.
