Description

Haverfordwest County Library was built in the 1960s to the designs of Pembrokeshire County Architect, Gilbert Ray. The library has a square block to the north and a rotunda to the south, with an east facing facade to Dew Street with a brick and glass design to the frontage. The high facade of the northern block bears a three-dimensional sculpture in the form of an inverted cone, representing the pages of an open book. The function of the building was replaced by the Glan-yr-afon cultural centre built in 2018, and the building is currently for sale.

Recorded during RCAHMW aerial reconnaissance.
