Site Record

The Dee Oil Works were constructed c. 1874 on a site adjacent to the existing St David's Oil Works, which closed when the cannel coal industry collapsed in North Wales. These worked closed in 1913. A gasometer was marked on the 1899 to 1938 which indicated a small gasworks which would have supplied the works with gas light. This may have been either coal or oil gas.
