The Methodist cause in Bodedern was established in 1822 and the present chapel largely dates from the same year, though it has had some later modifications. It was the birthplace of the Wesley Bach Movement around 1831, but returned to Welsh Wesleyanism in 1904. Soar Methodist Chapel was rebuilt in 1880 in the Simple Round-Headed style with a long-wall entry. it is now Grade 2 Listed with the attached chapel house.
