Description
An isolated, flat-topped hillock rising above the Afon Alwen, its irregularly oval summit area, c.164m NW-SE by 84m, currently defined by a drystone field-wall, which has been regarded as a natural feature.
(source Os495card; SH95SE10)
Traces of an inner circuit, c.15m within the peripheral field-wall, can be observed on the S, where it follows the line of a field-wall portrayed by OS County series (Denbigh. XXV.5 1875) &, less certainly, on the SW, whilst traces of terracing, that could be associated with a rampart, are apparent on the NW & NE; a possible counterscarp bank appears to run about the foot of the natural slopes about the enclosure on the W & SW, c.30-25m from the line of enclosure.
A possible circular feature, c.10m in diameter, is apparent within (at given NGR).
