Type of Site BOUNDARY DITCH, RECTANGULAR ENCLOSURE

Broad Class AGRICULTURE AND SUBSISTENCE

Period Unknown, Medieval

Site Description Cropmarks recorded during Royal Commission aerial reconnaissance in July 2013 show two sides of a bivallate enclosure, comprising two parallel ditches running north, then turning through a sharp corner west to connect with an extant field boundary on the west side of a minor lane. It is likely that the cropmarks represent the ploughed-out remains of a field enclosure, but one that pre-dates the country lane which bisects it.
