DescriptionSt Donat's church is located on the east side of Cardiff Road at its junction with Aberdare Road, set back slightly from the road in a rectilinear yard, on a sloping site above the village.
The church was built in 1897-8 to designs of architect G.E.Halliday of Cardiff. It is constructed of rock-faced sandstone, Doulting stone for the east and west windows, and harsh red Cattybrook brick on north and south. It is a complicated group with saddleback -roofed porch tower to the south-west, and cross-gabled south aisle. The red brick interior is now painted out. Windows are a simple vocabulary of lancets. Stained glass includes work by A.L.Wilkinson (1947).
