2. Royal Commission aerial reconnaissance in 2006 (AP_2006_3649) revealed a plough-levelled rectangular enclosure to the west of the church (NPRN 410151), possibly indicating an earlier defended enclosure of prehistoric date, or an early medieval church enclosure.
