DescriptionDimlands was a large, Tudor style castellated mansion, originally built between 1790 and 1793 by the Nicholl Carne Family. The house was re-built in 1850-1 using local Blue Lias limestone with bath stone dressings. There was a large porch of bath stone with a coat of arms and arched entrance. The house was destroyed by fire in 1948 and the remains demolished. A castellated entrance lodge survives.
