Description
This building was a group of five almshouses at the centre of Defynnog of the west side of the High Street (A4215). They were stone-built with a slate roof and had a cobbled forecourt. The building had four doors with flat arched heads plus casement windows with diamond panes. They date originally from the 17th century foundation of Sir John Davy but were rebuilt in the early 19th century, and became Sir John Davy's School. There was an inscription above and between two of the windows in the centre of the building, which was illegible at the time of the survey.
