Set about the hillslopes below Twyn-y-Gaer defended enclosure (NPRN 305069) are 16 pillow mounds. One is L-shaped, one circular, the remainder rectalinear. All but the smallest are ditched. The circular mound was previously recorded as a cairn. A small building platform is associated with the warren.

2. Built as circular mounds, crosses, more common `cigar shaped? oblong mounds or more unusual L-shapes, such warrens were numerous in the hills of Glamorgan, Powys and elsewhere. Providing an essential rural income in recent centuries from the sale of pelts for the fur trade, as well as a ready source of food from the meat.
