Description
St Illtyd's church, Llanhamlach is an Anglican parish church with medieval origins which consists of a chancel, nave and tower only. It was mostly rebuilt, apart from the tower, in 1887 by S. W. Williams of Rhayader. The tower is late medieval as also is the doorway into the north porch. The church is said to have been rebuilt in 1804 when a south aisle was removed. There is said to be a block of stone low on the west face of the tower with pre-Norman decoration. There is Interior Victorian stencilling & angels with freehand detailing.
