DescriptionA ditched subrectangular mound, formed from the summit of an abrupt ridge above the Teifi gorge, is thought to represent a medieval castle motte. The mound, its summit measuring some 20m north-north-west to south-south-east by at least 28m, rises up to 9m above steep natural scarps on the north. It is defined elsewhere by a 3.0m wide ditch, obscurred by the churchyard to the west. Cists containing burials were encountered during the contruction of the mauseleum set over the western part of the mound area.
