A D-shaped enclosure, about 24m north-south by 18m, resting on steep natural scarps above the valley of the Grannell on the east, defined elsewhere by massive banks, up to 4.2m high, having a centrally placed west-facing entrance set at the point of the D; a possible building platform occupies the northern part of the enclosure; there are no indications of ditches, or further works, although OS County series (Cardigan. XLI.3 1889) shows a fragment of bank some 60m to the north, by the modern road: the place-name 'Castell Ddu' occurs some 350m to the south-west.
