Description
NAR SN24SE1
Earthworks thought to represent the remains of a medieval castle mound, set upon the tip of a spur, facing north-eastwards across the Gwenffrwd valley: a subrectangular, ditched platform or mount, about 32m square & rising up to 1.5m high, having a near square summit area, about 25m across: the ditch is most prominent on the south-western front, where it faces onto rising ground: thought to have been substantively reduced in about 1964, the depiction on OS County series (Cardigan. XXXIX.13 1889) appears similar to current depictions.
