Description
Camp I at Llanfor is a large, 11ha, Roman temporary camp in the form of a trapezium with rounded corners and up to six entrances. It is part of the Llanfor Roman military complex (NPRN 95489). On the north-west it overlaps what appears to be a smaller temporary camp (NPRN 308245). It also overlaps a polygonal military enclosure on the west (NPRN 401825) and a large fort on the south (NPRN 401826).

It is possible that the large camp is later than the fort and enclosure (see NPRN 95489) and that it represents an unrecorded campaign following the initial Roman conquest of the area.
