DescriptionBorth was originally a fishing village but became a seaside resort after the station was built in 1863-4 on the Machynlleth to Aberystwyth line. The Grand Hotel, the Cambrian Hotel (the latter now demolished) and St Matthew's church, were both developments dating from this period.
