DescriptionTalybont is a large village situated on the road between Aberystwyth and Machynlleth and near the rivers Ceulan and Leri . It is the site of the most extensive and oldest textile mills in Ceredigion which produced flannel cloth from the early 19th century until the last mill closed in 1980. Lead and silver were mined near the village. From the 1960s until the present, a printing and publishing company (Y Lolfa) was developed in the centre of the village. There are two public houses situated around a large village green, terraces of houses, 3 chapels and, at one time, 15 shops and 2 banks.
