Freshwater East became a popular recreation area in the nineteenth century with the growth of the Naval Yard at Pembroke Dock. The dune system here was put under severe environmental pressure by plot development between World War One and World War Two. The development was halted after Pembrokeshire was designated a National Park in 1952 and since then the Park Authority has worked in partnership with local groups to conserve the local landscape and wildlife. It was recorded during aerial recconnaisance on 28th January, 2009.
