DescriptionGriffithstown is a village situated between Pontymoile to the north and Sebastopol to the south. It is named after the station master of Pontypool and New Inn railway station, Henry Griffiths. Monuments of interest include: the Panteg steelworks (Nprn: 308640) in Griffithstown which were built in 1873 to make open-hearth steel and rolled steel sheet; the railway viaduct (Nprn: 85127) and the road viaduct (Nprn:43162) consisting of 13 segmental arches over the disused railway marshalling yard.
