DescriptionThe church of St German of Auxerre (NPRN 175) on Star Street was preceded by an iron church adjacent to the west, reputedly a second-hand structure from Dudley acquired in 1874 (1). It appears on the Ordnance Survey first-edition 25-inch plan of 1880 but was soon replaced by the stone-built church which stands close by today. The iron church later became a Sunday School before being demolished some time after 1920, to be replaced by the modern hall which now stands on the site.
